I hear the world is going to end in 2012. Quite frankly, I’m looking forward to it! I’ve always dreamed of living in a Mad Max-style world, full of roaming zombies and mutated creatures. When that day comes, let me tell you folks – I’m ready. Anyone out there who’s played Fallout 3 knows what I’m talking back.

Just how sure am I about the impending apocalypse? I’d bet my cock on it. That’s how sure I am. I mean, haven’t you been paying attention? We’re already starting to see signs unfold right before our eyes! Well for those of you not paying attention to the world, I started my very own SIGNS OF THE APOCALYPSE!!!!!! (Wasn’t that scary? You see, when you put lots of exclamation points, it’s like your yelling and therefore scary – that’s a little internet 101 for you n00bs.)

So far, I’ve noticed five incidents, but I’m sure this list will grow in our remaining days.

1. Former UFC champion, Chuck Liddell, competed on Dancing with the Stars – I mean come on! Really?

2. Xbox360 is adding Twitter, Facebook and last.fm to the console – Yea, it is awesome, but it’s also scary to know every one of my Facebook friends will know when I’m sitting on my ass playing video games.

3. Windows 7 was released – Isn’t it always scary when Windows releases something new? You know they’ll fuck it up somehow.

4. Twilight - …..yeah.

5. The Cavs have a chance at winning the NBA finals – Knowing Cleveland’s record of always blowing it, I wouldn’t be any money on it. I thought if I included it on my list thought, it might actually happen. So let it be known – if the Cavs win the NBA finals, the world is really going to end in 2012.

There you have it. Let me finish this post by saying Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare 2 is amazing.

That is all.

Holy Shit, It’s Christmas!

Posted in My View with tags , , , , , , , on November 2, 2009 by dnothing

drunk_santa_1I hope everyone had a wonderful and candy-filled Halloween. I stumbled upon a tidbit of information yesterday and I’ve decided to share it with all of you out there, who don’t like to keep on the up-and-up with current events. Are you ready for it?

Christmas now begins on November 1. Yes folks, according to Target and a majority of other retailers out there, we now begin the Christmas season the day after Halloween. Why? I think it’s safe to say that after years of playing second fiddle to Hanukkah, Catholics and Christians could take it no more. An eight-day festival of lights is pretty impressive, but it just can’t top a 2 month-long festival of savings and consumerism.

Whoa! Hold on there. You’re still thinking of celebrating Thanksgiving? How dare you! With a holiday as important as Christmas, how could you even think about giving thanks for the things you have? After all, the Christmas spirit is about getting things. So, how could you be thankful for them, without knowing what’s under that shiny wrapping paper? I’ll just go ahead and say it, “Thanksgiving is dead“. Sorry to be the barer of bad news, but what’s done is done.

The question on my mind? We all know that Sweetest Day is a Hallmark holiday, but can we now consider Christmas a Walmart holiday? So what are you waiting for folks? Go pick out your tree and string up those lights (unless you didn’t even take them down from last year). Christmas is here and you didn’t even know it!

Exxxotica NY Recap

My mind is a flurry right now, so I apologize if I miss something in this recap. I am going to take it day by day, so let us journey into my memory. Shall we?

GetAttachmentThursday – I picked up Nova in the morning and we ventured to the hotel. Upon our arrival, we met up with Draven and were delighted to share a dinner with the lovely Jenna Haze, Teagan Presley and Isis Taylor. This was just the beginning of an amazing weekend, let me assure you. That evening, Nova, Draven, Jenna, BellaVendetta and I met up with Joanna Angel, Misti Dawn, Jessie Lee and JoJo at the Harem for an evening of feature dancing and birthday celebration. It was a great time and also the first time I got to meet a man by the name of Dougie Chainsaw, who – over the weekend – turned out to be one of the coolest fuckers I’ve ever met in my life.

IMG_1930FridayPhoenix arrived in the morning, along with Mitch Fontaine. I woke up early (as I did everyday, because I am unable to sleep past 9am, regardless of when I went to sleep) and helped set up the Burning Angel booth. The day went by quick, as I spent time passing out stickers, playing roadie and being an all around helpful fellow. I did manage to sneak away for a few moments to grab some pizza with BV, Nova and Draven though. Sometime during the day I also got to meet Finn and Violet, who are really awesome people. After the convention day, we all went back to the hotel and prepared for the after party, which was fun – aside from the fact that the hotel had no idea how to throw an after party. I would tell you details, but I drank too much and can’t really remember it. Sorry. I know the party shut down around 2, but we room hopped till about 6am. (Hotels don’t like that by the way lol).

IMG_1928Saturday – Unable to sleep in again, I woke up, put gas in my car and loaded up on sugar-free Red Bull for everyone. When I was going back to my room, I saw Nick from Strip for Pain, who invited me along to find hairspray for Joanna and some Chinese food for himself. Once we returned, I passed out the Red Bull and drove Joanna and JoJo to the convention, where I helped set everything back up. I spent the day working myself into a daze (well, let’s pretend it was the work and not the stuff I smoked in the parking lot). Phoenix, BV, Draven and I went back to the hotel at one point for some dinner and it was the worst dining experience I’ve ever had. Brian Bangs and Spock Buckton (two cool guys by the way) from Pop Porn (cool site by the way) managed to get in and out in the time it took us to order and get our checks. We were literally there for over hours. At some point during the day I met Rogi and her friend – two more amazing people I got to add to my list of new friends. Phoenix and I also got pictures and spoke for a few moments with Sasha Grey, who is as incredible as you’d think. The evening saw another after party, “hosted” by Jesse Jane. There was a live band playing, which was pretty cool. I met some more amazing people, but again, I was drinking too much, so I can’t really recall a lot of it. I remember having an awesome time, so that’s all the matters.

IMG_1913Sunday – Another early morning and another convention day. Not too many people at the convention on Sunday, but it was still a good time. After the convention, I helped Mitch and Dougie tear the booth down and pack everything up. I then ventured with all of the girls to a dinner down the street from the hotel and let me just tell you, it was the most fantastic fucking dinner I’ve ever been to. With everyone packing up to head their separate ways, we ventured back to the hotel and prepared to depart. Things took an unexpected turn at this point though. Steve (an amazing photographer) had car trouble and it left him stranded 5 minutes from the hotel, along with Jessie Lee and Joanna. Always trying to be the nicest guy I can be, had no trouble playing driver. So, Nova and I packed up our stuff and I checked out early to take the trio to Brooklyn. We somehow managed to cram 5 people and the luggage into my car and made it to NYC.

IMG_1929Monday – Woke up (early) after staying in the Burning Angel office and spent the day exploring NYC with Nova and keeping the BA crew company. Joanna had an interview with these guys from France and because of how things worked out, let’s just saw the people of Paris are going to think I am an intern at BA. After getting some amazing Thai with Nova, we ventured back to the office, so she could nap. Jessie Lee stopped by and I accompanied her to the T-Mobile store and once we returned Nova and I said goodbye once again. By this time it was late the my lack of sleep was catching up with me, so I wanted to find a hotel fast. The first five I went to were sold out, so I trekked it to PA. We ended up finding a brand new casino called The Sands in Bethlehem, PA. We got a hotel down the street and we spent the evening gambling. Let me just say, for the record, I absolutely love playing the slots.

IMG_1915Tuesday – The final day of the journey. By coincidence, Rogi – who I met earlier on the trip – lives in Bethlehem, so we met up with her and her BF (cool guy by the way) for some brunch at Perkins. Following that, we ventured back to the casino for a little more gambling. I was actually up on the roulette table, but I took a big risk that didn’t end well. So, we made the drive home and everything went smoothly – well, until I was about 30 minutes from home. I pulled into a rest stop to take a quick nap and somehow ended up running over a nail. Long story short, I didn’t get to sleep until about 3am.

It was an amazing time and I always love seeing my friends in BA. I know I sound like a broken record, but these are the most amazing individuals I’ve ever met in my life and I’m overjoyed to even know them.

There was a lot more that happened, but it’s just too much to discuss. I left some things out and surely forgot some things, but all in all I think this sums up the weekend how I want to remember it.
